Leland Price is an award-winning producer, writer, and director whose extensive career includes work on over two hundred film, television, and video projects with experience ranging from low-budget features, television episodes, children's after-school specials, commercials, documentaries, and wide-screen exhibition films.  Mr. Price hails from a small town in North Carolina, but spent his formative years in Morocco and Turkey where his parents taught in international schools. His education includes a B.A. in Communications from the University of Wisconsin and an M.F.A. in Directing from the American Film Institute.   He is a member of the PEN USA organization as well as a member of the Producer's Guild of America.

Over the years, as an expert at achieving compelling portraits of people on film, Mr. Price has worked with a number of celebrity talents including the following:  Jessica Simpson, Joely Fisher, Robert Wagner, Jill St. John, and Rue McClanahan.  He also made a film on Vincent Price and his art collection; shot a behind-the-scenes portrait of hip-hop artist, Me'Shell Ndege Ocello in concert; singer Vic Damone in rehearsal at home; and followed avant-garde jazz musician Cecil Taylor as he developed new material.  He has filmed actor, Jackie Chan in Istanbul; James Bond's stunt coordinator in London; French director, Luc Besson in Paris; Spike Lee in New York; new billionaires in China; and Islamic feminists in Cairo.

In addition, Price has interviewed such cultural icons and political leaders as:  Rosalynn Carter, composer John Cage, performance artist Meredith Monk, writers Allen Ginzberg, William Burroughs, Ousman Sembene (African novelist and film director), mountain fiddler, Tommy Jarrell, and bluesman Tommy Jackson.  He has also produced and directed PSAs with basketball star, Shaquille O'Neal, actor Danny Glover, and actress Mary McDonnell.

Mr. Price has also made documentaries about aging in America, traditional potters in the rural south, mountain storytellers, drag car racers, traditional boat builders on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Scottish twin fiddlers, black gospel singers, share croppers, poverty in Brazil, urban development in Kenya, the new capitalists in China, and a behind-the-scenes portrait of the US Congress at work.

Price's screenplays include:  "Leave of Absence", "Tag", "The Green Moon", "Andrew Goudelock", "Stealing Sophie", and the just completed thriller, "Fugitive Wind".  His body of work also includes short documentaries on the composers, Ennio Morricone, Alan Menken, and Hans Zimmer, as well as projects on murdered Irish journalist, Veronica Guerin; pop star Jessica Simpson; and the choreographed stunt work of Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Additionally, Mr. Price has directed three low-budget feature films for Mystique Films, The Big Hustle (gangster/parody), Love for Sale (romantic comedy), and Dangerous Invitation (thriller), and directed four episodes of the late-night HBO television series, Passion Cove.

Price has also produced over thirty DVD titles for both Disney and Fox Studios. Mr. Price currently resides in Los Angeles where he works as a writer, director and producer.
